September Life Update: Uni Life

Hi guys! We're finally nearing the end of September and coming to the fourth (!!!) quarter of 2017, and I think it's due time for a life update on here. I'm finally settled back into the routine of daily life after coming back from Seoul, and so far, everything's going better than I expected.

..wait, my life is actually perfectly fine and normal and going in a positive direction for once?????? AMAZING.

I officially started uni in August! And here's a selfie I took in the library while waiting for my next class because I feel like that's relevant. Somehow. πŸ˜€

I'm actually enjoying uni life way more than I thought - especially since I was worrying so much about how it was going to turn out for me. Besides my hell of a Tuesday (just.. why.. why would you put anybody through an 8am-6pm schedule.. why?????), I like my class schedule for this sem, and I've met a whole lot of great people in my course. I know.. me and my antisocial ass? Actually enjoying myself in a new environment? That shit is truly groundbreaking, my friend. I'm glad that I'm liking uni life a lot, though, because this is basically the next 3 years of my life and I better be having some fun in between all the future assignments and exam stress I'm going to receive..

I think that choosing to study communications was definitely the right decision for me as well. Even though I zone out in class sometimes (or, um, most of the time), my subjects are interesting and pretty relevant, and I've actually done some of these classes back in foundation so I'm not 100% lost. I still don't really know what I want to do in the future career-wise.. I'm hoping I'll develop a clearer plan in the next couple of years. But for now, I'm just going with the flow hehe.

Celebrated my beautiful mom's birthday last month! I think anyone would agree with me when I say that I swear to god she's getting younger every day. Honestly, I really think both my parents look super young, and I pray to God that I've gotten those youthful genes so that I look 40 when I turn 80 😎

My mom has been pretty busy these past few months herself as she's been participating in a TV singing competition! It's not Asia's Got Talent or The Voice or anything, but it's this year's Astro Classic Golden Melody (Astroη»ε…Έεζ›²ζŒε”±ε€§θ΅›2017) and well, it's a pretty big deal around here.. πŸ˜‡ It's pretty amazing yet surreal whenever I see her perform on TV. I'm endlessly proud of her for going out there and achieving her dreams, and I'm so excited for what's to come!

She also has a Facebook page now, so if you want to come and like it.. you know what to do πŸ˜‰

Steph came down to KL before leaving for uni herself, and even though it was for such a short while it was so great to spend time with her again 😭 Yet another reason for me to go back and visit London.. Next year, maybe?! Or is that just my wishful thinking again.. We'll see how that plan goes 😬

Passed my KPP test on the first try!!! I still have my actual practical driving lessons ahead of me but I'm SO glad I got this over with.. I thought everyone was exaggerating when they said they barely needed to study anything before the test, but I basically knew nothing and spend the night before the test cramming for it and ended up scoring pretty decently. This.. probably doesn't mean you should follow in my footsteps, though..

The main reason why I was so stressed about the KPP test is because of how incredibly.. surreal my 6 hour road safety theory class was. I'm so glad Ash and I attended the class together, because I don't know how I would've gotten through the whole thing alone.. I assumed that I was just going to sit there and listen quietly the entire time, but I barely learned anything..? The only thing I remember from that class was the fact that the instructor sang karaoke, played the ukulele and showed us car crash videos the entire time. I'M NOT EVEN KIDDING. I SERIOUSLY DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED OR WHAT I EVEN GAINED OUT OF ATTENDING THAT CLASS. 😐

So so happy that I got to spend time with my donuts this summer before they left me (again πŸ˜₯) for the UK. Always grateful to have them because they've dealt with my shit for like the past 6 or 7 years and they still love and appreciate me omg what have I done to deserve this T__T Probably saved a whole country in my past life or something lol. I can't wait for Vira and Kristen to come back too, I just want the 5 of us to be together again!!!!! Home just feels so empty without them around, to be honest.

I've got a couple of things lined up for next month - namely, my dreaded TOPIK test (slowly completing my 2017 goals list!), but I'm just gonna go with the flow and see where life takes me for the rest of the year. So excited!
