Innisfree Green Cafe @ Myeongdong

Myeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Hello everyone! It's been a while, and I'm blogging from Seoul again - currently in bed nursing a cold because I haven't been sleeping well and my body is clearly not getting used to the weather, lmao.

The trend in Korea is now beauty cafes (cafes within makeup shops), and I can totally get with this trend. My friend Christina and I decided to visit the Innisfree Green Cafe at the flagship store in Myeongdong on Tuesday.

I've been wanting to go ever since Joan Kim featured it in a vlog of hers - I actually got the chance to meet her and Edward Avila the other day, but I'll blog about that later!

I totally forgot to take a picture of the entrance lol but here are the floor maps! The opening hours are from 9am - 11pm and the first floor is the actual shop whilst the second and third floors are dedicated to the cafe. I didn't take a look at the time but it seems like you can keep your luggage on the fourth floor as well, which is super convenient for tourists.

Going up to the cafe!

The cafe itself is super beautiful and very Innisfree-esque - you can tell that they put a lot of effort into the design.

Jeju Pink Lemonade, Jeju Sea Lemonade, Tangerine Oreum Shaved Ice

The drinks and bingsu were really nice, I have no complaints about them! On ordinary bingsu, they usually provide you with a sort of condensed milk to pour on top, but here they gave us tangerine marmalade and it was super yummy. There's just something about eating cold things in the winter that I just really love T__T

The cafe also features a VR machine that simulates a couple of different scenarios, and I knew we just had to try the Lee Minho one that went viral on Facebook. He isn't even my favourite Korean actor (that would be Lee Jongsuk and I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!) but he's cute and I like the dramas that he's in!

Prior to this I had never used an actual VR headset before so I was really excited to try it out. They have instructions in three languages, and you can call the staff to help you out if you have any problems.

They provide masks for you to put on so that you won't smudge your makeup on the headset (at least, that's what I assume it's for HAHAHA) but it was too big for my face :(

Excuse my lip tint-covered hand, I did some wallet damage that day. 0:-)

It was actually a very cheesy experience :p We both chose the "Someday in Jeju" option, where you basically get in a car with Lee Minho and he takes you around Jeju and says some gross things while holding your hand. It was pretty cool, though, and if you focused hard enough it could definitely feel real (which means that it didn't feel real enough for me HAHAHA). There are another two options that you could choose from besides the adventure with Lee Minho, if I'm not mistaken, but I didn't get to try them out :(

They also provide a wall of different cardboard designs that you can take and fold up yourself to make your own little cardboard VR headset. Just put your phone in, put on a VR video and you should be good to go! Edit: I have now realised that I'm incredibly dense :-) It's actually a cardboard speaker, not a VR headset.

The amount is.. a bit excessive LOL but here are the ones that Christina and I took.

The stairs to the 3rd floor.

I personally thought that the design of the third floor was a lot prettier than the second. A lot more sleeker and less.. 'in your face' with the trees and potted plants and stuff :p

All in all, it was a really nice experience and I wish that I had something like this back home T__T Can you imagine getting to study in that kind of environment??? Sorry Sunway uni library, I really love you, but the vibe in this cafe is so calming :-)

The easiest way to get there would be to get out of exit 5 at Euljiro 1-ga Station (을지로입구역) and walk straight till you get to the entrance of Myeongdong on your left. The store is huge and you can't miss it once you walk further down from the entrance.
